Khi ngồi vào ghế lái bạn hãy mở khóa điện/nhấn nút mở, đưa cần số về vị trí di chuyển mong muốn: D nếu tiến và R nếu lùi. Kết hợp nhả phanh tay và nhấn chân ga.

Khi muốn giảm tốc độ, bạn chuyển chân ga sang chân phanh và cũng nhấn từ từ, tránh đạp nhanh, mạnh khiến xe dừng đột ngột, mất kiểm soát.
Đặc biệt lưu ý, không đạp phanh bằng chân trái, đạp ga bằng chân phải, chỉ sử dụng 1 chân di chuyển để tránh nhầm lẫn gây nguy hiểm.

Dừng đèn đỏ

- Nhả chân ga chuyển sang đạp chân phanh khi tới gần vị trí dừng đèn đỏ quy định. Lưu ý nhấn chân phanh ước chừng đến điểm dừng xe sẽ dừng hẳn.
- Nếu thời gian đèn đỏ chỉ khoảng 15 giây thì chỉ cần ấn nguyên chân phanh đến khi chuyển đèn xanh thì nhả phanh, đạp chân ga để xe tiếp tục di chuyển.
- Nếu thời gian đèn đỏ trên 15 giây thì bạn nên chuyển cần số xe về vị trí N, cùng với đó là giữ nguyên chân phanh. Thời gian quá lâu có thể kéo tay phanh đảm bảo an toàn. Khi đèn xanh hãy nhả tay phanh, vẫn giữ chân phanh, chuyển cần số về vị trí D sau đó mới chuyển chân phanh sang chân ga di chuyển tiếp.
Đỗ kéo phanh tay

- Bước 2: Kéo phanh tay, nhả chân phanh.
- Bước 3: Nhấn chân phanh, chuyển cần số về vị trí P, sau đó nhấc chân phanh và tắt máy.
Mấu chốt chính của vấn đề là để xe đỗ đứng yên nhờ vào phanh tay thay vì dùng lực đè lên bánh răng cóc của số P.
